FAQ & Case Studies

What we do, what to expect, and results from past engagements.

General

What do you do?

Rouse & Holder provides revenue advisory and deal origination for established B2B companies. We help you reach buyers beyond your existing network and build a steady flow of qualified opportunities.

Our team runs the agreed outreach program. Your team handles sales conversations and wins the business. Reply handling, appointment setting, and sales support depend on the scope.

Who do you work with?

Companies in specialized markets where deal flow often comes from referrals, trade shows, field sales, or industry relationships. Engagements can focus on customer acquisition, investor sourcing, or transaction opportunities.

That includes manufacturers and product businesses selling to dealers, distributors, or commercial buyers, as well as B2B service firms.

Typical client profile:

  • $3M+ in annual revenue
  • $20K+ average deal size
  • Relationship-driven sales process
  • Established product-market fit
  • Proven track record of client success

Businesses outside this profile can still be a fit if the numbers make sense and there are enough buyers to reach. We’re not a fit for transactional checkout models or high-pressure sales tactics.

What makes your approach different?

We plan outreach around how many suitable buyers you can reach and what a new customer is worth:

  • A small market needs careful coverage. We set volume to reach enough buyers without wearing out the same list.
  • High-value accounts can justify deeper research and a mix of channels. In larger markets, we test messages across buyer groups and expand what works.
  • Our team monitors sending infrastructure and adjusts volume to support inbox delivery.
  • Buyers outside your network need more context and proof than a referral. Depending on scope, we help your team improve offers, sales assets, follow-up, CRM handoffs, and staff training to turn interest into business.

Senior team members stay involved as campaigns run, results come in, and the approach changes.

Will this work in our industry?

Experience in your industry is useful, but fit also depends on how many buyers we can reach, what a new customer is worth, and your team’s ability to turn interest into business.

Before starting, we assess your market, offer, proof, and sales process together. Relevant case studies help inform that conversation, even when the client sells something different.

Pricing & terms

How much does it cost?

Managed engagements start at $20,000 per quarter. The price depends on the research, outreach volume, and support you need.

Your proposal sets out the engagement term and payment schedule. Monthly billing does not necessarily mean a month-to-month engagement. Changes to the agreed work or volume may affect the fee.

What exactly are we paying for?

Your fee covers the team and operating work needed to run the agreed prospecting program, with senior judgment throughout.

Scope depends on the buyers you want to reach, the channels and outreach volume, the research and infrastructure required, and who handles replies and qualification. Sales advisory support and specialist involvement also affect the fee.

Your proposal spells out what’s included, what your team handles, and any separate costs.

Do you offer performance-based pricing or guarantees?

A base fee plus a performance component can make sense when the economics and reporting support it. Fully performance-based engagements aren’t our standard model.

Any risk-sharing terms are agreed before signing, including responsibilities, how progress is measured, and what happens if results fall short.

Process & timeline

How do you find the right people and get their attention?

Research helps identify companies with a practical reason to consider your offer, such as expansion plans, operating needs, or problems with an existing supplier.

Targeting identifies potential buyers. Outreach establishes interest, then prospects are screened against the agreed criteria.

Cold email is the core channel, with LinkedIn or direct mail included where appropriate and agreed in scope. Messaging gives prospects a relevant reason to respond. Follow-up keeps the conversation open when the timing isn’t right.

What results can we expect?

The goal of the first 90 days is a functioning outbound program that generates qualified opportunities beyond your existing network.

Campaigns show which buyers and messages generate worthwhile conversations. Volume can adjust to your priorities and sales capacity within the agreed scope.

Results depend on your market, offer, sales cycle, and follow-through. Before starting, we work through the economics with you to assess whether an engagement makes sense.

How soon can we start, and what happens in the first 90 days?

Work starts once the agreement is signed, the first payment is made, and we have what we need from your team:

  • Weeks 1–2: Set up and warm up sending accounts, research prospects, and build lists for approval. Work with your team on offers, sales assets, and any agreed CRM integrations or handoffs.
  • Weeks 3–4: Start sending once setup and approvals are complete. Test the first messages and buyer groups, review replies, and work toward the first qualified opportunities.
  • Weeks 5–8: Increase outreach as results, inbox health, and your team’s capacity allow. Refine targeting, messages, and follow-up using campaign results and sales feedback.
  • Weeks 9–12: Aim to reach the agreed sending volume and build on what’s working. Test other buyer groups or markets where the results and scope support it.

Who will we work with, and what do you need from us?

You work with the principal on strategy, alongside our operations team and any specialists needed for your account. The principal stays involved throughout.

  • R&H manages the agreed prospecting program, people, tools, and vendors.
  • Your team provides offer information, proof, approvals, and feedback. A designated person handles sales calls and follows up with each opportunity.
  • Before launch, we agree on who handles replies, qualification, booking, and follow-up. Your scope also sets out points of contact and meeting schedules.

We need timely feedback from your team and a willingness to test new ideas.

Why wouldn’t we build this in-house?

You can. An internal build requires someone accountable for running it, plus tools, training, and management time. Managed execution keeps that operating work with R&H.

If you’d rather run it in-house, we can discuss helping your team build and manage it under a separate scope.

What can we expect from our first call?

We’ll discuss your goals, how you win business, and what you’ve already tried. If you have an internal team or agency, we’ll look for gaps before recommending more work. Past outreach that fell short helps us assess what would need to change.

If an engagement makes sense, we develop the scope together before either side commits.

You don’t need to decide whether to engage us on the first call.

Risk & compliance

Will outreach hurt our domain, brand, or reputation?

Your reputation may have taken decades to build. Relevant targeting, accurate claims, and professional messaging help protect it. Campaign lists exclude current clients, former clients, and other accounts your team identifies.

Separate sending domains and careful management of volume and replies help reduce deliverability and reputation risk. They cannot eliminate it.

How do you handle regulated industries?

Our clients include firms in financial services, capital markets, M&A, and private equity. Your legal and compliance teams help establish permitted audiences, claims, disclosures, and approvals before launch.

Those requirements guide campaign targeting and messaging.
